ثار نبأ العثور على أوراق "دنيازاد" الكثير من التقولات والظنون. بعضهم أنكر وجود تلك الأوراق بالجملة والتفصيل. في حين تطوع الكتبة للتشكيك بفحواها. ادعوا أن ما نشر ، إنما يرمي إلى ما هو أشد من القتل.لا أحد يعرف على وجه اليقين كيف هربت تلك الأوراق إلى خارج أرجاء المملكة. قيل في حينه ، أنها وجدت مخبأة في إحدى جدران غرف القصر التي كانت تشغلها "دنيازاد"، وذلك قبل هجوم عسكر المملوك الجديد على القصر، الذي قتل جميع ساكنيه بما عرف في حينه ب"مجزرة البلاط". بعض التجار القادمين من المملكة، سربوا أنباء تفيد ، بأن ما عثر عليه لم يكن سوى تفاصيل خطة ، كانت أعدتها "شهرزاد" وبالاتفاق مع ابنها ولي العهد، للنيل من جذور محرمة. رعايا المملوك الجديد فضلوا الصمت-كعادتهم-إبان المحن .

Director Philippe Aractingi filmed during the 2006 conflict, commencing shooting only ten days into the 34 day war that claimed over a thousand two hundred Lebanese lives–most of them civilians; that displaced around a million residents — about a quarter of the population; and destroyed so much of Lebanon’s civilian infrastructure. 78 bridges destroyed; 15,000 homes damaged; and 15,000 tonnes of oil spilled on 80km of the Mediterranean coastline.
Remarkably, the film director hired only two film actors, Nada Abou Farhat and Georges Khabbaz. The rest of the cast — refugees, demonstrators, civilians, NGO officials, soldiers and journalists — all play their own role.

A delegation of internationally-renowned writers and intellectuals travels to the Occupied Palestinian Territories -- in part to participate in a cultural event in honour of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish, but also to see first-hand life under Israeli military occupation. The delegation includes Russell Banks (U.S., author of The Sweet Hereafter and Affliction), Bei Dao (China, famous exiled poet), José Saramago (Portugal, winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize for Literature), and Wole Soyinka (Nigeria, winner of the 1986 Nobel Prize for Literature). The film is narrated by these and other writers -- in a variety of languages – with eloquence and passion, as they compare and contrast their experience in Israel and Palestine to injustices in their own homelands.

The film attempts to examine the issue of women an modernization, women and body, women and power through songs and segments from the lives of singers such as Munira el Mahdeya, Om Kulthoum, … and seeks to link and compare the past with the present.
This music-filled documentary examines the impact singers Umm Kulthum and Mounira El-Mahdeya had on Egyptian politics and society during the first half of the 20th century. Through classic film clips, interviews with musicians and scholars, and taped interviews with the two singers themselves, we learn just how far-reaching their influence was.
Entering show business at a time when it was considered taboo for both men and women, Mounira El-Mahdeya first started appearing in plays in 1917, taking on the lead male roles. She continued on to a successful singing career, eventually introducing the operetta to Egyptian audiences. Umm Kulthum, arguably the most popular Egyptian singer of all time, was banned from the airwaves during the political revolution of 1952, only to be reinstated when a complaint was registered by President Nasser himself. Both Umm Kulthum and Mounira El-Mahdeya played invaluable roles in blazing the way for women in politics and entertainment throughout the Arab world.
